Driftkikker is a project founded and lead by Daddo (audio/visual artist) since march 2005. In twining styles s.a. urban, ambient, trip hop, latin, funk, jazz and rock, closest to definition of Driftkikkerâs music is Nu-Jazz. First single âYour expressionâ was released in july 2005, this track featuring Ned@bass and John@drums came out with the re-mix by R.O.U.D.O.S and was first played by local radio-station in Rotterdam
By the end of june 2006 Driftkikker released the debut âComing of the lightâ containing 15 tracks of unusual but pleasing blends of musical styles. Since the release of this debut, Driftkikker is enjoying growing international attention, thus far the cd has been played on the national radio stations in Hungary and France, and lately itâs kicking around New Yorkâs nightclubs, recently our track âWhatâ has been selected for a prestigious compilation âmixed tapeâ by Mercedes-Benz.


Who is Daddo ?
Daddo started playing guitar at the age of 13. In the beginning years like many he have founded and played in several teenage bands. At the 1996 he joined the "Tulpe Bolle" a funk rock patchanka band for which he wrote and co-wrote the material, year after that he formed the "United States of Consciousness" an interactive avant-garde performance project. During the "USOC" project he have met with Vitali Imerelli the last protégé of Stephane Grapelli, after a short acquaintance Vitali saw Daddo’s potential and decided to make him his pupil, giving him a wealth of musical knowledge.
Beginning of 2001 Daddo started assembling some of the first pieces that would turn out to be the fundaments for his future work.
Daddo is respectively following in the tradition of free approach to the music implementing different musical styles such as funk, latin, jazz, rock, pop, reggae, trip-hop and trance, fusing them in one contemporary sound giving an unique perspective to the music. Some of the major podia Daddo has participated at were North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague and Tobacco Road in Miami.
