AMPHIS-BAENA (pronounced am-fis bay-nuh) performs distinctive, creative music that blends elements of Scandinavian Pop, Improvisation, and Electronica. Their lyrical melodies, heavy grooves and ambient textures have been called "jazz for people who hate jazz."

The members of Amphis-Bæna met while studying at the New England Conservatory, and have performed/recorded with John Scofield, Ralph Alessi, and Dr. Lonnie Smith among others. They have opened for Kneebody, and performed at New Yorkâs Knitting Factory and Ryles Jazz Club in Boston as well as many other venues throughout the East Coast.
