Although Moravia, isn’t the biggest town in central NY, that doesn’t stop Angels Beneath Me from poking their heads out and making a big name for themselves. Coming from a town that consists of only a small handful, has made it tough for these musicians to get their music into the hands of people who would give a damn. But metal in these boondocks wasn’t necessarily a new thing, with bands like Manowar, and If Hope dies spawning from a neighboring town, there proved to be a some what surprising following of metal heads, young and old ready for a taste of something new. New is exactly what they got, Angels Beneath Me, formed in 2003 and with their technical style combined with straight up in your face thrash for the headbangers and down right brutal riffs for the pit-goers it didn’t take long for the word to spread about these guys. After a couple years of hard work and dedication, they were able to put together and self-release a demo, which was quickly picked up by their fan base that is still growing today. Their big break came in July of 2005, when they played at the Hardcore BBQ with bands such as Byzantine, If Hope Dies and Dog Fashioned Disco. The night was theirs as everyone including the cooks, bartenders, and the last old drunk man in the beer tent came out to watch these guys rock the stage. From there they went on to play the Benevolectic 2005 Fest, with Most Precious Blood, Psyoupus, etc. With their recent signing to Melee Records, the group plans to head into the More Sound Recording Studio and record with first full length, which will be produced by Jason Randall (Metal Blade Records, Hex Records, The Red Death, Found Dead Hanging, Ed Gein, Bad Buisness, The Funeral, Engineer, Witness, No Idols, etc). The album is due out January 1st, 2006, and will be back by a two week long tour. It is without a question that Angels Beneath Me helps in putting the M back in metal, which seemed for a while to be almost extinct. A band this dedicated, hardworking, talented, and full of energy can only mean one thing, and that is success. The band is ready to take the next step and break onto the national market, and rock peoples world’s everywhere.
