GTA Praise Band is based in a church in London, Ontario, Canada, called GTA - Glad Tidings Assembly. They have been playing for about 8 years, both in weekend worship services at GTA and at various venues in Ontario. Their style is rock based and their material consists of a wide variety of modern contemporary praise and worship songs, some cover songs, and some older hymns as well - always with new arrangements to adapt to more contemporary genres. The producer is Tim Schwindt, owner of River Music Productions in London (www.rivermusicproductions.com), who serves as a worship leader at GTA and lead vocalist for the band, together with Blair Mercer, Angela Mercer and Sarah Ross. The band has a good number of background vocalists, as well as several guitarists, keyboardists, drummers and bass players. It is their desire to give praise to God and communicate the message of His love and truth to this generation in a dynamic and relevant way through the tool of music.

The band’s debut project "It All Begins Here" was a live recording released in 2003, of which they sold a thousand copies. GTA also released a Christmas project entitled "Glad Tidings of Great Joy" in 2005. "Now and Then" is a studio project recorded at OIART Studios in London (www.oiart.org) and at River Music Productions. The project is subtitled "Songs of Yesterday and Today" as it reflects the music of a variety of eras throughout church history. It features four classic and inspirational hymns rearranged in contemporary/rock style, five popular praise and worship songs from the past two decades, and four new original songs.
