Recording Artists Rare Gems recently celebrated their 29th year in music. Formed in 1970 by Charles E. Givings, this multi-talented group still consists of it’s original members. The are: Charles E. Givings, Lead Vocals/Drums; Johnny Ross, Lead Vocals/Keyboards; Darryl Coleman, Lead Vocals/Bass; Jimmy Gough Lead Vocals/Guitars; and Sandy Givings Lead Vocals/Percussions.

This multi-talented group specializes in all forms of music from Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Rock & Roll and Country to Standards and Motown.

A self-contained group, each member, in addtion to playing an instrument is comfortable singing lead and background vocals. Their strong leads and sweet harmonies lend themselves to the old school style of The Temptations, while their musical style can be compared to the funk/disco groups of the 70’s & 80’s.

This CD is a compilation of hits from their previous albums, including the 1977 hit release, "What Is Funk" on Casablanca Records. It also contains their latest release,, "Whatcha’Gonna’ Do With My Love", on Imagination Records.
