A saved, Holy Ghost-filled, loving wife and mother of 3, Jerri Little is a native of Tennessee and presently resides in South Suburban Chicago, Illinois. At age 5, Jerri’s vocal abilities were recognized and nurtured by her beloved mother (deceased). Jerri began her "ministry in song" at the age of 12 at her hometown Baptist church. Shortly thereafter, singing alongside her mother and sister, they formed a trio and began singing locally. Soon they traveled statewide and Jerri’s anointed, transfixing vocalese became more apparent, which gave way to her soloist undertaking.
Upon moving to the Chicagoland area, Jerri’s paternal grandparents (deceased) saw to it that her powerful and soul-stirring vocals were heard at various church functions. Her strong-willed grandfather was an inspiration to her as a philanthropist and encouraged her to always "help somebody", even if only through an uplifting song. And it became commonplace for her doting grandmother to pass notes to their church choir director requesting solos from Jerri. Soon after, Jerri began singing under the tutelage of well-noted choir directors and became a familiar voice heard around the city. Jerri also became a regularly featured soloist throughout Chicago via both radio and television, such as the former "Saturday Nite Sing" and currently can be seen on various Sunday morning church television broadcasts and programming such as WGN’s "Singsation!", hosted by Dr. Willie Wilson.
Jerri has also sung either alongside or backup with various recording artists and/or recorded with well-known choirs. Jerri has also been featured in plays at various churches and well-known organizations, such as The Black Caucus and AARC, across the United States. Despite the tragic loss of her mother, a divorce, and the abrupt deaths only months apart of her grand "parents", Jerri attributes "by the Grace of the Lord, I’ve come a long ways". Jerri’s favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13, serves as a testament of her faith and way of living as she quotes, "I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST THAT STRENGTHENETH ME."
Jerri’s gospel influences, to name a few, have been such greats as Mahalia Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Richard Smallwood, The Clark Sisters, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Darius Brooks, Daryl Coley, the late Rev. James Moore, the late Min. Thomas Whitfield, and Commissioned. Jerri is also the founder and CEO of TGB Records, of which her husband, Tony, is President. TGB Records will release Jerri’s much-awaited debut CD project, "Help Somebody Today - Live" (inspired by her late mother and beloved grandparents) on October 2, 2006. Jerri remains faithful to God in her singing and her lifestyle, striving to be an inspiration to ALL of God’s children and forever proclaiming, "To God Be The Glory!"
