Weitere Informationen vom Distributor:
Abel Ashes (http://AbelAshes.com ) was born David Isaac Hull on July 7th, 1973 in El Paso, Texas. Shortly after his birth his name was changed, for religious reasons, to Abel Ashes Hull. Abelâs mother added her maiden name to change his name to Abel Ashes Hull Simmons for a number of years during his upbringing in rural New Mexico. Finally, as a teen, Abel changed his name to Abel Ashes.
Following a difficult upbringing rife with poverty, familial conflict, and an unwelcome outsider status Abel found himself living in San Diego. He eventually obtained a small black Stella acoustic guitar and, during a year-long return to his home state of New Mexico, converted his somewhat abstract, somewhat political poems into very unusually structured compositions for mostly single-note guitar and guttural vocal.
Upon returning to San Diego Abel performed regularly as opening act for Stevie Harrisâs legendary San Diego political/funk/rock band, conglomerate (http://StevieHarris.com
). Abel was also a regular fixture at various open-mics around town, most notably at The Wikiup Café where he performed alongside some of San Diegoâs most notable poets and musicians.
Ashes eventually formed various improvised sound art projects with San Diego noise iconoclast, Hirsch the Machine Hirsch. These projects included the final incarnation of Hirschâs âThis Way Outâ (formerly featuring Marcelo Radulovich [http://MarceloRadulovich.com], Scott Homan, and Cry of the Eagle), âP.I.S.S.O.N.M.E, AKA: Premier Improvised Spontaneous Sound and Optional Noise Mutation Eventâ (a regular late night feature at El Campo Ruse), and âInvalid Entryâ (featured on the Accretions compilation CD, âTrummerflora 2.â
While Ashes was living in Los Angeles he made contact with Marcos Fernandes (http://www.marcosfernandes.com/ ), former co-owner of The Wikiup and founder of the Diego based record label, Accretions (http://Accretions.com ). Fernandes was putting together a follow up to the popular experimental music compilation CD, âTrummerfloraâ (http://accretions.com/catalog/trummerflora.asp ) that had featured Marcosâs bands, âWormholeâ and âUltra 7â along with âDodecaphonicâ and âZ.O. Voiderâ. Marcos wanted to record Abelâs song, âThe CEOâ.
Ashes recruited Marcos himself to play drums. Few drummers had previously been adventurous enough to even attempt to play Abelâs challenging and unusual rhythm structures, but Marcos with his background in world beat (Burning Bridges, Wormhole Effect) and experimental music (Ultra 7, Trummerflora Collective [ http://trummerflora.com ]) was up to the challenge. Abel also recruited keyboardist, vocalist and outsider musician extraordinaire, Fayd, known for his keyboard and voice recordings performed under the monikers of âMoral Sanctityâ and Moral Sanctactyâ Finally Abel brought his brother-in-law, Max Vazin, into the project to record bass. Abelâs sister Clare added some backing vocals. Thus began Abel Ashes & the Runs.
âTrummerflora 2â, featuring Abel Ashes & the Runs and Invalid Entry was released by Accretions (http://accretions.com/catalog/trummerflora2.asp ) in 1998.
Abel Ashes & the Runs, as a band, was relatively short lived, but fortunately their unique arrangements of Abelâs songs have been captured for âyour listening pleasureâ on the album, âEat Plasticâ. âEat Plasticâ was recorded in 2000-2002 and features a different edit of the 1998 recording, âThe CEOâ, plus two 2004 remixes dedicated to the 9/11 Truth Movement (http://911Truth.org ).
Ashes put music on hold for nearly five years following the September 11th 2001 terror incidents. Abel was always involved in various activist causes. He had most recently campaigned for Ralph Naderâs 2000 Presidential bid and had been investigating the CIA/crack connection (http://fromthewilderness.com/free/ciadrugs/index.html ) and the cover-up over the Oklahoma City bombing (http://NewsWithViews.com/Briley/PatrickA.htm ) at the time of the â9/11 Attacksâ. Ashes felt that his limited time and money should be spent facing the daunting task of alerting his fellow Americans to the âinside jobâ nature of the âNew Pearl Harborâ.
Ashes handed out Mike Ruppertâs famous âOh Lucy Timelineâ (http://fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/02_11_02_lucy.html ) to political candidates at San Diegoâs âElection Centralâ and went âundercoverâ as a âYoung Republicanâ to hand out 9/11 Truth material to attendees of Dick and Lynn Cheneyâs reception of the âArchitect of Peace Awardâ at The Richard Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, California in 2002 and at the Orange County headquarters of Unocal. Abel was probably the first San Diego resident to publicly state that elements of the U.S. government had a hand in orchestrating the events of 9/11/01.
Although he had recorded a full length album with Abel Ashes & the Runs, as well as two EPs, one recorded live with guitarist Eric Hensel, Ashes felt that music had to be put aside for the sake of the anti-imperialist, anti-globalist, anti-Pax Americana movement. Having moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, Ashes peppered the city with 9/11 Truth factoid graffiti for months before finally meeting Carol Brouillet (http://CommunityCurrency.org ), Don Paul (http://www.wireonfire.com/donpaul/dphome.html ), Ken Jenkins (http://www.peaceproject.com/books/dvd12.htm ), Joyce Lynn (http://www.joycelynn.com/ ), Penny Schoner (http://www.ratical.org/ratville/CAH/F77pentaToC.html ), Jim Hoffman (http://911research.WTC7.net ), John Leonard (http://www.waronfreedom.org/ )and others forming the original Northern California 9/11 Truth group. Ashes worked on campaigns with this group and separately involving opposition to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, promoting new 9/11 documentaries questioning the official account, promoting speaking engagements by the likes of Mike Ruppert ( http://FromTheWilderness.com ) and John Judge (http://www.ratical.org/ratville/JFK/JohnJudge/ ), and tabling fliers, pamphlets, books, videos, bumper stickers, and DVDs with Carol Brouillet at various anti-war, anti-globalization, and 9/11 Truth events.
Abel was one of but a handful of activist that pointed out the possibility of war games such as âDark Winterâ (http://www.upmc-biosecurity.org/pages/events/dark_winter/dark_winter.html ) being preparations for an actual false flag smallpox terror incident to be blamed on Saddam Hussein as a pretext for war with Iraq. It cannot be known for certain how real the âthree cities simultaneouslyâ smallpox threat was that the CSIS, ANSER Institute for Homeland Security, Johns Hopkins Bio-Terror Institute drill spoke of and that CFR member, Senator Gary Hart warned of in specific detail as to exact cities in which it would occur (http://www.stevequayle.com/News.alert/03_Unrest/030123.Gary.Hart.on.Fox.html ), was. However, there is the possibility that Abel Ashes, along with a small number of other activists around the United States, possibly including Gary Hart himself, exposed this criminal conspiracy sufficiently before the fact, so as to prevent it from being carried out as a criminal act.
Abel was fired from a stock job with department store, Neiman-Marcus in 2003 for having âdistributedâ 9/11 Truth information âon the premisesâ. Ashes had given a copy of Austin, Texas-based radio host (http://infowars.com ), Alex Jonesâs documentary âMasters of Terrorâ (http://infowars.com/videos.html ) to a friend at work that had requested the video. The video was given to someone that had requested a copy, while both parties were on a break, in a private area of the âemployee onlyâ section of the store. Yet, Ashes was confronted by security and threatened with the loss of his job. When Abel tried to leave the office of the HR director who had been berating him, he was tackled, strangled, handcuffed, and held in confinement for nearly an hour.
Following this bizarre incident Ashes contacted San Francisco based attorney Stanley Hilton that had been noted in the San Francisco Examiner, http://TruthOut.org
, & FOX Newsâs Hannity and Colmes for having filed a lawsuit allegedly on behalf of over 400 9/11 victims family members against the Bush Administration over the events of 9/11/01. Hilton graciously offered to represent Ashes pro-bono in a lawsuit against Neiman-Marcus and then asked Ashes to join the â9/11 victimsâ lawsuit, which was being reorganized so as to allow any U.S. taxpayer to join in complaint of misallocation of U.S. Treasury funds being spent in wars given excuse by the events of 9/11/01. Ashes joined the suit.
Having exhausted his employment opportunities in The Bay Area, Abel moved to Louisville, Kentucky to stay with a friend that had offered to help. During his time in Louisville Ashes has reached a minor out-of-court settlement with Neiman-Marcus and seen the Stanley Hilton lead â9/11â lawsuit go through changes that at times were inexplicably strange. The suit was eventually dismissed due to the doctrine of âsovereign immunityâ, in other words, it does not matter whether the defendants are guilty or not. In either case by virtue of nothing more than the political positions they hold, they are immune from prosecution and thus âabove the lawâ. Nearing the lawsuitâs end Hilton bizarrely claimed that he had ânever claimed that there were 400 plaintiffsâ, that there were only â40â, when in fact Hilton had been on record everywhere including radio broadcasts, saying in his own voice and his own words that there were âover 400â plaintiffs. Hiltonâs appeal to the Ninth Circuit was dismissed.
Abel Ashes has since started a substantial web presence for his activist related activities and research:

Abel Ashes intends to release three additional CDs over the course of the next year:
Abel Ashes & Eric Hensel â Found Objects (live EP)
Abel Ashes - Other Ornaments
Hopefully sooner, rather than later, Abel Ashes and fellow 9/11 Truth activist Cosmos will release the debut CD of their new documentary music project, P2OG.
Much of the music on âEat Plasticâ is instrument and a lot of it is musically challenging yet rather humorous and at turns sociological, abstract, and even silly, somewhat similar to Frank Zappa (http://www.zappa.com/splash.html ), Captain Beefheart (http://www.beefheart.com/) or Mike Keneally (http://mikekeneally.com ).
Included are two 9/11 Truth remixes. One, âAlamogordo Testing (Operation Expose the Government Terrorists Mix)â features Alex Jonesâs pre-9/11 warning that the CIA was going to use their âassetâ Osama bin Laden to attack Manhattan. The second, âStop and Go Traffic ( Stop the 9/11 Cover-up Mix) features audio from Sean Hannityâs interview with Stanley Hilton and CNN Headline News of an anti-war demonstration with a sizable 9/11 Truth contingency.

The bio here is all screwed up. Some of the info is wrong and there are all kinds of syntax errors. It should be replaced. The first 10 songs are great. The last two are remixes with overdubbed news clips. The second remix is okay, but the first one is kind of stupid. Anyway this album has been re-issued with 14 extra tracks. Look for it under the name Eat Plastic And Other Elements. Its not on tradebit.com yet. Its a lot better than the original version!
