Based in the song-writing team of married couple Scott and Patty Womer, the band Hundred Monkey Theory is an expanding and contracting entity. Its sound is created by the individual inputs, combined with the team effort and vision of its core members; Patty Womer (lead vocal), Scott Womer (acoustic guitar/vocals), Dennis Gardner (bass), Rachael Gardner (vocals) and Steve McClaine (djembe/percussion). Part of HMT’s appeal is its ability to be equally comfortable performing with its full 8-piece band in a larger concert venue, as well as playing as an acoustic combo with its core members in a small intimate setting.

Brief Biography:

Upon returning to Albany, NY (after living in Nashville, TN for 5 years), Scott and Patty quickly established relationships with existing area musicians and friends; Dennis, Rachael, Steve and Sal. After a few rehearsals together to perform some of Scott and Patty’s original tunes, the songs began to evolve. It quickly became obvious that the creative dynamic within this group was that of a band. So calling themselves "Hundred Monkey Theory" (you can do the research), adding early member Sal Munafo on keyboards/programming, and also adding an electric guitarist and drummer, HMT went to work making music in their individual and collaborative way. And they continue to do so today.

In 2004 HMT went into the studio to record some of their songs. The result of that studio time is their first release: a 6-track EP called "This Sterile Room." It’s safe to say that if you want to know what HMT sounds like (in its full band mode), this CD is an excellent representation of who they are musically and lyrically. Enjoy.
