Sean’s original band left for different reasons. He then enlisted the help of his friend’s Dennis and Matt to play drums and bass respectively. Vereran rockers in their own right, Dennis and Matt had been playing together for five years prior to this engagement.
There is a plethora of musical styles that are showcased in their songs. Sean, predominantly modern Rock influenced, has an excellent ear for Pop, and contributes an Emo voice to his songs. Dennis, previously a Punk/Rock drummer lends a modern/acute tinge to Sean’s melodic and often intricate songs. Finally, Matt, who previously participated in bands of many different styles; finishes up the unique, original feel to this band.
It’s tough to pinpoint any band that Almost Doesn’t Count sounds anything like. They’re a unique blend of many different styles, wrapped up in an all-star power trio format.
A lot of bands in the scene right now sound the same. They offer an original sound, a good show, powerful, well-written and melodic songs, and flowing lyrics.
