"The Afro Peruvian Jazz Sessions" is a compilation of Zellon’s most representative work recorded during several sessions throughout the 90’s outside of his homeland. These recordings are historically representative of the international beginnings of this new genre in that they document the first collaboration among mainstream jazz and Latin musicians. "My goal was to achieve a marriage of Afro-Peruvian rhythms with jazz harmony & improvisation", states Zellon.
