Komplettes MP3 Album von Tim P Scott
Angegebene Spieldauer: 64:57
Veröffentlichungsdatum: 2004-03-27
Kurz-Beschreibung von CDbaby: WHAT WERE YOU DOING IN 1998? Well, Tim P. Scott was stuck away in a dank room obsessively constructing a collection of weird but strangely familiar electro-acoustic instrumental pieces (with the odd occasional strange spoken interlude mixed in).
Käufer, die sich für (Vangelis / Mike Oldfield / Mannheim Steamroller) interessieren sollten sich dieses Album anhören.

A note added October 2005: if you’ve gone to the Crow Caw Music Works website in the past and been unimpressed, you might want to try revisiting it now and in the weeks to come. It’s been seriously improved and a lot more full length song samples are available for listening. (http://www.crow-caw.com)
The 2 minute samples here at cdbaby are cool to get a taste, but for some full length WMA and MP3 downloads of miscellaneous material from past and future releases check out acidplanet, garageband and soundclick, as well as the Crow Caw Music Works website:
http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?AID=267738
http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?AID=295992
You can also here songs from other releases and works in progress at:
http://www.garageband.com/artist/t_p_scott
and
http://www.soundclick.com/timpscott
Although I encourage you to browse around and check out my work, please keep in mind that the pieces really do sound better off the CD. The quality of the mp3s, wmas, and real audio files on those websites range from OK to awful. And I’m not just saying this to get you to buy the CDs! I really will honor my satisfaction guarantee.
All these sites will be updated periodically with different tunes from the vaults and in work.
--------------------------
radio i (playing time 65:02) is the third installment in Tim P Scott’s "uneasy listening" music series. The first CD, Jack of Shadows, is also available on CDbaby, but the second, "The Circle of Art" is a rare collectable. "Uneasy listening" in the sense that it’s the polar opposite of "easy listening", which was a term that used to describe radio stations which played only the most inoffensive and unchallenging commercial music possible.
Basically, "radio i" is a possibly narcissistic or self-indulgent exercise in which Scott decided to write a series of instrumental compositions that he would have liked to hear on an ideal radio station, if such a thing existed.
Although Scott’s style is hard to pin down, it is influenced in greater or less degree by the following bands and artists, among others:
Procol Harum / UFO / Strawbs / Roxy Music / Tangerine Dream / Jo Jo Gunne / Warning (the 80s German one) / Ozric Tentacles / Blue Oyster Cult / White Zombie / Rare Bird / Captain Beyond / Black Sabbath / Philip Glass / Tool / Wishbone Ash / Camel / Love / Spirit / Clear Light (the 70s L.A. one) / Manfred Mann / Megadeth / Duncan Browne / David Sylvian / Bill Nelson / Talk Talk And too many more to remember at the moment...
radio i consists of about 65 minutes of pure aural bliss. Browse the samples and also check out the fourth release "glossolalia" and first release "Jack of Shadows" also available on CD Baby, and the Crow Caw Music Works web site at http://www.crow-caw.com
Although there are entire songs here and there you can download, radio i is really an entire concept piece, and
is better when you listen to it in its entirety rather than try to hear short excerpts. Of course there is a money back guarantee so that if you don’t love it your money will be cheerfully refunded.
The real CD also comes with a bonus tabloid style poster which contains descriptions of the songs and lengthy rants about a number of things...you can’t get that from a download!
When contacted for further comments, Scott contributed the following:
"I just though of a few more influences...from back to the 70s and before: Icehouse, Metallica, Rush, King Crimson, ELP, Jan Hammer, Russ Ballard, Big Country (and into the 90s!), Brand X, Sandy Bull, The Fixx, Dixie Dregs, Golden Earring, High Tide, If, Jade Warrior... well, that takes me up through the "J"s...
"The theory is that if you like them, you might be more likely to like my compositions...the theory of transitivity of affinity and all that.
"If someone asked me: "what is the CD or record you have played MOST OFTEN in your life?" I would probably have to answer "Tony Scott’s Music for Zen Meditation." It’s just one of those things."
There’s a persistent rumor around that there really is no "Tim P Scott", but rather a collection of pranksters with too much time on their hands who have created a web persona to see if they can get people to believe in him. There’s a little more information about this on the "Jack of Shadows" page here at CD Baby; see the link immediately to the left of this frame.
