Rap Scholars is the debut album from the Chicago street raised duo, Da Swordzmen. These two MC’s, Precise Da Assassin and Wize Man, combine to form a true breath of fresh air in hip-hop. This is a new sound for a new time and a new mindstate. In this age of rap music so much of what you hear is lacking any real substance and quality. We look to the older, already established artists for good music because so much of the new "talent" is shallow, hollow, and bottom of the barrell.

Da Swordzmen break that cycle with new beats and lyrics that stimulate both the brain and body. The group formed in 1999 after the two met on the city’s SouthWest side freestyling and laying down songs for a local compilation, and ever since they have been putting in work to become a creative force in the music world and give a rebirth to the Chi-Town rap scene. Rap Scholars contains a true balance with; the banga’s "N’Shit," "Blaze it Up," and "Dat’s Me," the street anthems, "Dancin’ Witt A Killa," "Fuck Cops," and "Cold Nights," as well as the intellectually profound "Stop Hatin’," "Sun, Moon, Stars," and "Rap Scholars."

No matter whether you’re a hip-hop head, a hustler, a gangbanger, the Son of God, a Queen, a buisiness woman, or a bustdown, you can and will feel this shit!

Precise hails from 18th and Troy in Douglas Park also known as the "Holy City" on Chicago’s West side. While Wize represents the "6-Tre," 63rd St. in the South side’s Marquette Park.
The twist this group gives you from 2 different flavors that are 1 in the same cooks up some Windy City food for thought that leaves a taste in your mouth making you starve for more. Do the knowledge... Da Swordzmen IS hip-hop in it’s purest form. The future is here...
