In August of 81 Andre’ Lawrence Rowlett grew up surrounded by talent in a small middle class neighborhood in Detroit Michigan. Andre’ began writing at an early age, influenced by his mother’s drive for poetry. Andre’ was ten when he won his first poetry contest, and went on to compete in the state finals only to finish in third place. With this achievement his passion for writing only grew stronger. Realizing that songs were just poetry with music in the background, Andre’ began writing lyrics. Gospel, jazz, classical, rhythm & blues and hip hop all helped in influencing his unique sound. In comes the Lyrical Genius’s; a rap group created in the basement of Detroit’s eastside which had 4 original members Mr. Lyrical, Da Genius, B.D.C., and Andre’ who was the Wiz. Andre’ recorded his first song at the age of 13, and has been addicted ever since. The group performed locally at bars and open mic’s, because they loved making music and enjoyed the high of performing. When Andre was a sophomore attending Martin Luther King High School he had made a name for himself "Rowlett" due to the fact that’s what everybody preferred to call him (too many Andre’s). By the time he was a senior Rowlett had attended well over ten schools on his path to graduation in "99". He then attended Oakland University in Michigan. There he met class-mates with similar ambitions. He and those class-mates help formed the group known as Thrice Great (3XGreater); now Thrice Great Entertainment. Absoloot, MurDock, Spare Change, D.V., Phat Ray, Know How, Info, and Rushn Rowlett rounded up the Extraordinary 8. From there on, Thrice Great begin performing at campus events, party’s, Hot Rocks Café, local bars, The Lush, Cobo Hall, and a couple other spots throughout the motor-city. After two years of college he dropped out. Realizing that Detroit was not the entertainment capital as it was in the past Andre’ set his sites on California. Since Being in California Andre’ has made a name for himself as Rushn’ Rowlett performing at local charity events, and passing out demos. Since his arrival he has created Rowlett Publishing Affiliated with ASCAP, and is in his beginning stages with Rowlett Records teaming up with Super Block Productions in the quest for radio supremacy.
