Planet 13 "One Way Ticket"

Planet Thirteen’s second album entitled, "One Way Ticket", is scheduled for release in January 2005. This new release features a remake of the Journey classic, "Separate Ways", and brings the band back to it’s roots with a more commercial style record and hopefully a more "Radio Friendly" style.

"We wanted to capture a new audience and potentially gain new fans with this release" says P13’s guitarist, Lance Benedict. "Although we are getting plenty of internet radio airplay with our first release, we thought it would be a good idea to release some songs that are more main stream rock & roll."

"This record has some really rockin’ tunes and they fit better in to a traditional radio stations format" says Benedict. "We are extremely proud of the first record and it continues to sell copies and gain new fans each day but I feel that every record we do is for a purpose and this new CD will shine in a much different light!"

Like the first record this was recorded in a similar manner. Lance Benedict recorded most of the music and was joined in early August 2004 by the vocalist of Planet 13, Ray Zarate. After tracking the vocals and putting the final touches on the record it was taken to Threshold Sound + Vision in Santa Monica, CA where Peter Barker, (Chief Mixing Engineer) and Stephen Marsh, (Chief Mastering Engineer) applied their genius and magic. Marsh and Barker are responsible for engineering some of Rock & Roll’s premier acts including Ozzy Osbourne, Incubus, Kenny Loggins and Tool to name a few.

"I wanted to take this second record to the next level" says Benedict and to do that we needed professional post production... Threshold Sound + Vision exceeded our expectations and we are extremely pleased.

"One Way Ticket" adds a special bonus to the CD which includes one lucky winner walking away with Lance Benedict’s Ibanez RG570 Guitar, the very guitar that was used to record a lot of tracks on the record. Inside one of the "One Way Ticket" Cd’s is an actual raffle ticket. The ticket is a replica of the "One Way Ticket" and one lucky fan who purchases the CD by June 1, 2005 12:00 am EST will win the guitar!
