What can you say about an album in which the opening song is about a substance abusing pilot, the second song is about a guy named Brad who contracts a "computer" virus from having cyber sex, and the fourth song’s lyrics consist entirely of Spanish remembered from freshmen year high school Spanish class?

PAINT breaks new ground in this second installment of smart, witty, diverse music from Denver’s reigning "Kings of Eclectic".

"We got such a huge response from our first album, we knew we had to raise the bar for our second album." Says Moetz, PAINT’s bass player. "When we started compiling material for the album, we knew we wanted to explore lots of different styles of music. We’ve got rock, funk, country, jazz, we even got into electronica for this CD."

Once again, the writing, producing, recording, and mixing were done by the band themselves, in their home studio affectionately referred to as "Stu Stu Studio".

"Recording for us is such an exploration." Explains singer/guitarist Matt, who takes over all the guitar and lead vocal duties on this album. "We wanted to be able to try whatever we wanted without worrying about what the studio time was costing us."

"Recording the album in our own studio gave us the ability to get the exact performance we wanted." Says Todd, the drummer/graphic artist/ Webmaster for the group. "We are VERY proud of this effort."

The result is a no-holds-barred take of pop rock with a serious bent towards the irreverent.

That’s not to say the album isn’t without depth. Songs like "Who Do You Think You Are?" and "28 Days" reveal a sensitive side of the band and an ability to create passionate compelling music.

But just when you thought maybe PAINT was going soft on you, you get to the power pop closer of the disc: "Choade".

Care to tell us about the inspiration behind "Choade", Matt?

"No comment. You’ll just have to buy the album and hear it for yourself."
