In 1998, The Nines released their critically praised Wonderworld of Colourful which topped the University Charts in Canada. The album introduced the splendid pop song craftsmanship of singer/songwriter Steve Eggers. Being named North by North East’s "Best unsigned Act" in 1998, allowed Canada’s pop darlings the chance to release a second cleverly penned and supremely performed 4-song CD released on Universal. Eggers’ songs have appeared on several hit Television shows, including Dawson’s Creek and Party of Five. The Nines have recently released their second full length album, Properties of Sound, and immediately topped Canadian University Charts with the song, Melanie. The Nines have returned from a successful showcase in Hollywood, opening for Jason Falkner.

Steve Eggers is currently writing with a number of artists including XTC’s, Andy Partridge. The Nines are now working on their next album which will be mixed by Jason Falkner (Air, The Grays, Jellyfish, Paul McCartney).
