Mary Beth Maziarz began singing in the rich jazz and folk communities of Chicago while in college. Upon moving to Park City, Utah in 1993, she found her home as the headline performer at the renowned Riverhorse Cafe. Park City proved to be the perfect hub for a flourishing career, providing not only a central location for touring but also a terrific entertainment center in itself. The destination resort town draws visitors from all over the world, allowing her to perform regularly in concert for the thousands of fans who visit each year.
As Mary Beth’s audience grew, her music drew the attention of the popular television show, "Dawson’s Creek." Since first using her music in the ending segment of episode #301, the show featured Mary Beth’s tracks a dozen more times-- more than any other artist! Two of these tracks, Hold On and Better Than Anyone, drew incredible fan response and appear on her album "Goodnight, Goodnight" and in more acoustic versions on her album "A More Perfect World."
Mary Beth’s remake of the Monkees’ (and John Stewart’s) Daydream Believer was also included as the last track (and only song by an independent artist) on the "Songs from Dawson’s Creek -- Volume 2" Soundtrack, released worldwide by Sony Music in October 2000. Before the show took its final bow last spring, producers of invited Mary Beth down to the set in Wilmington, North Carolina to be featured "on camera" on the show. She played herself, performed her original song, "Waiting for a Sign" in episode #416. Although it’s no longer shown in prime time, Dawson’s Creek can be seen daily in syndication on TBS.
Mary Beth Maziarz released her first album in 1995, the folky, award-winning "Something Real." Since then, she has created three more full length CDs -- the wintery "Snowed In," rich pop of "Goodnight, Goodnight," and mellow piano and vocal simplicity of "More Perfect World." She also has songs on two Sony soundtrack albums available everywhere -- "Songs from Dawson’s Creek, Vol. 2" and "Broken Hearts Club -- A Romantic Comedy."
"Goodnight, Goodnight" topped Amazon’s "Emerging Artist" bestsellers list as number 1# selling album on for both the Pop and Adult Contemporary categories for over two months. Recently, "A More Perfect World" was ranked 20th on Amazon’s overall Pop list, selling better than thousands of major-label artists. Mary Beth’s independent label, Musaic, has sold over 30,000 of her albums in the last four years.
Mary Beth recently completed a soundtrack for the film "Leave No Trace" and will be composing the score and source music of the upcoming film "Jupiter’s Landing." She also provided new music for the popular WB series "Everwood" last season.
