Weitere Informationen vom Distributor:
Kyle Jester made his debut on the Southern California blues scene in 1999 as the front man and founder of The Tri-Tones. He played alongside bassist Thomas Yearsley (of the Paladins) and drummer Vladimir Yarrovinsky, performing authentic, high-energy blues in any venue that would have them.
Kyle’s talent was quickly recognized by established San Diego blues man Earl Thomas, who used The Tri-Tones to back him on his comeback record "The Elector Studio Sessions" in 2000. Earl’s record went on to win the San Diego Music Award’s "Best Blues Album" in 2002, and has since been re-mastered and re-released on the Memphis International record label as "Soul’d."
After backing Earl for six months, Kyle was invited to join the Freddie Brooks Band out of Los Angeles. As the Friday night opening band at the Blue Café (Long Beach), they played in support of such blues greats as Anson Funderburgh, Little Charlie and Junior Watson.
Kyle played with Freddie as a regular gig for the remainder of 2000. In January of 2001, he was offered a spot with internationally renowned blues artist Candye Kane, as her show opener, guitar player, duet vocalist, and bandleader. Since then, he and Candye have performed together in 26 U.S. States and 17 countries, playing many of the best blues clubs and biggest roots music festivals in the world. As the Candye Kane band they won San Diego Music Award’s "Best Blues" in 2001 and 2002. In 2003 they released a new CD, "Whole Lotta Love", on the Ruf Record label (which includes a duet with Candye and Kyle).
During his time with Candye Kane, Kyle started another 3-piece band called the Small Town Heroes. They played in the local clubs and festivals of San Diego up until 2003, when Candye’s busy touring schedule would only allow a few intermittent shows. The Small Town Heroes still play today with a new lineup, including Kyle as special guest when he can fit it into his schedule.
On March 13th of 2004, Kyle Jester went into the studio with Kevin Williams (Small Town Heroes) and Tom Essa (Mississippi Mudsharks, Big Daddy & The MoneyShakers) to cut a record. In only two afternoon sessions they recorded 15 high-energy blues songs, including one with Candye Kane, producing essentially a "live" studio album. Kyle added five originals (that were previously recorded in 2000 with Thomas Yearsley), and mastered them all onto a 20 track record. This newly released maximum length CD Kyle Jester, "Ain’t No Way", is 74 minutes of blues, ballads and rockers... stinging guitar and a powerful voice... all recorded in black and white.
In May of 2004, Kyle made it known that this would be his last year of touring with Candye Kane. Starting in January of 2005 he will be booking under his own name and pushing his new release "Ain’t No Way."
