Violist KATHRYN LOCKWOOD is a member of the internationally renowned Lark Quartet. In addition to touring and recording with the Lark Quartet, Kathryn performs with numerous other prestigious groups including Trio Solisti, Triple Helix, Concertante and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. A native of Australia, Kathryn moved to the US in 1991 and captured highly esteemed awards including Naumburg, Coleman, Concert Artists Guild, and has collaborated with such artists as Cho-Liang Lin, Branford Marsalis, St. Lawrence Quartet, and the Bill T Jones Dance Company. Before relocating to New York in 2001 Kathryn held the position of violist of the Pacifica Quartet since its inception. As part of Pacifica, Kathryn performed extensively across the US and internationally, and collaborated with violist Michael Tree on an all Dvorak CD and composer Easley Blackwood on recordings released by Cedille Records. Currently on faculty at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and Concordia College, Kathryn was previously on the faculty at Northwestern University and University of Chicago.
Russian born INESSA ZARETSKY emerged on to the composition scene six years ago winning four ASCAP Composition Awards and a "Commission USA" Award from Meet the Composer Foundation. Her works have been performed by many prominent musicians such as members of the Boston, Orpheus and St. Luke’s Orchestras, and ensembles including the Kent/Blossom Festival Orchestra, St. Lukes Chamber Ensemble, Cassat and Miro Quartets. Ms. Zaretsky’s music has been performed throughout the United States and in Italy, Turkey, Greece, Israel, Austria, Mexico, Canada and a special Millennium Concert in Havana, Cuba.
Ms. Zaretsky began her piano training at the Moscow Conservatory College. After immigrating to the United States, she went to Mannes College, where she studied with Richard Goode. Ms. Zaretsky is a winner of the Frina Auerbuch International Piano Competition and has been the recipient of scholarships from Mannes College, Yale, and the EXXON Corporation. She has performed extensively in Europe and the United States and has been heard on several radio broadcasts. Ms. Zaretsky is on the Piano Faculty of Mannes College.
YOUSIF SHERONICK appears internationally as soloist and chamber musician with world-renowned groups and artists such as Philip Glass, Glen Velez, Ethos Percussion Group, Foday Musa Suso, Simon Shaheen, Henry Threadgill and Paul Winter Consort. Having studied contemporary classical, jazz, world and rock music, he is able to seamlessly fuse these sensibilities into his playing. Encompassing traditions and instruments from the Middle East, North and West Africa, Brazil, India, and Europe, Mr. Sheronick’s unique style has him in demand for many of the world’s top musical situations. He has collaborated with such artists as Yo-Yo Ma, Branford Marsalis, Pandit Samir Chatterjee, Marcel Khalife and Sonny Fortune.
