Esoteric, a. 1. designed for or understood only by the specially initiated.
Esoteric 7, established in August of 1999, is a soulful blend of Jazz, Funk, Folk, Rock and Hip hop. With former band members of Skiptooth, Cooley's Market, and The Debonaires, Esoteric 7 is composed of the following seven members: Brandon Collins (vocals), Ronnie Jackson (vocals), Jesse Knabb (guitar), Scott Papp (guitar), Chris Miles (bass guitar), Woody Diaz (percussion), and Chad Derouen (turntables). This diverse combination of musical styles breaks the monotonous trend of Rap-core, which only combines Rap and Rock. Presently, Esoteric 7 plans on saturating the music scene with its energetic stage performances, punchy grooves and the release of their 2002 full length album, " Nocturnal Sessions."
Since the year 2000, Esoteric 7 has performed with a variety of bands such as Def Jam recording artist: Ja Rule, B2k, Amanda Perez, Ozomatli, Jay-O Felony, Bad Azz, Natural Aphrodisiac, Freakdaddy, Blood of Abraham, Delinquent Habits, Even Rude, Slightly Stoopid, and many others.
Coussoulis Arena (Cal State San Bernadino), The Glass House (Pomona, CA), Orange Show Fairgrounds (San Bernadino, CA), (Long Beach, CA), Tiki Bar (Costa Mesa, CA), The Gig (West Los Angeles & Hollywood, CA), UCR Barn (Riverside, CA), Orange Blossom Festival (Riverside CA), Famous Stars and Straps (Riverside, Ca) and many more.
