Darvoset, a Riverside/Orange County based band, plays Synth based music with powerful and sultry female vocals. No girly, la di da nursery rhymes here. Harsh, melodic, electronic rock that's dark, ballsy, sexy, danceable, and very original. Darvoset defies categories and blandness, the best way to describe them is 60's British invasion (melodies, songwriting) meets 70's disco and punk (attitude, energy, danciness), meets 80's new wave and synth pop (image, production, keyboards), meets 90's alternative and Industrial/goth (sexual, jaded, metaphoric and thought provoking lyrics) meets horror soundtracks set to hyper kinetic beats- all colliding to make the future. Darvoset is not afraid to do what they want; happy or sad, dark or light.

Darvoset began about 2 years ago as a 5 piece band. Female vocals, synthesizer, guitar, bass, and drums. This version was often compared to a slightly angrier Duran Duran with Siousxie Sioux of the Banshees singing lead. Another voice comparison has been Annie Lennox of the Eurythmics, although the band feels the voice is beyond comparisons. Various members stuck around, while others came and went. Certain lineups achieved some popularity, opening for bands such as Berlin, Orgy, 30 Seconds To Mars, Flock Of Seagulls, Bow Wow Wow, etc.... Too many acts to remember. Due to the other members having personality conflicts, creative differences, and being busy with their other projects, it is down to Kristine (vocals, lyrics) and Jay (keyboards/synths, songwriting) remaining from the original lineup.

With the recent addition of Drew (Drum Beats, Lyrics) and Randy (effects, loops, samples, sequencer lines), Darvoset looks to go even more powerfully dark, exploiting the undertones that were always there in the music, but that can now be brought to the surface. Randy and Drew bring a more electronic, industrial influenced sound to the mix. But this in no way defines or categorizes what they do. Darvoset doesn't believe in being average, normal, or plain. Their look is as original, impressive, and lasting as is their one of a kind sound. Darvoset believes in becoming more than you currently are and that is reflected in their sound and image.

Reinvent and mold yourself into what you see fit, without regards to the status quo. Breaking musical and fashion "don'ts" are common for them. Darvoset has no silly self imposed "rules" to their creation of music. Their influences range from Metallica to the Bee Gees, The Beatles to Depeche Mode, and everything in between. The band never knows for sure what mood will come out of them, but one thing's for sure: Darvoset will continue to explore all forms of music, and will produce quality songs every "type" of music fan can find something to enjoy.
