With the "Heaviness of Rock, Catchiness of Pop, and the sometimes angry end of Folk..." this cross-genre blend of melodic vocals, sophisticated lyrics, and beguiling melodies meld into the undeniable sound of "Cool."

Hailing from the enchantment of Santa Fe, NM, Cristen was actually born in Albuquerque, NM where she was introduced to a myriad of musical influences. Her father was a multi-instrumentalist who played classical pieces as well as the traditional music of Northern New Mexico, her mother played harmonica, piano and sang. The house was filled with the reverberations of wonderfully made music, delightful lyrical anecdotes and every stringed instrument you could imagine. By the age of twelve Cristen had chosen guitar as her primary instrument and by the age of fourteen, she was composing and performing at local coffeehouses, as well as sneaking in under-aged performances at various venues.

So what does Cristen's music sound like? Kinda' like Heart, Alanis Morissette, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge all mixed together and a little more pissed off.

Cristen was nominated for "Album of the Year" at the 2002 New Mexico Industry "MIC" Awards, held on May 19, 2002.

Cristen also recently placed as a finalist in the "New Mexico Giant Star" competition held September 7, 2003 held at the NM State Fair!
