The story behind the scene is as real as it gets. We are elementary school friends growing up in Decatur sitting around with a lot of ambition, creativity and desire constantly listening and getting the wisdom from the ol gee's doing there thang while we rapped over their lyrics as the songs on the radio played. We used our imagination and imitated live performances of rocking the mic with Tupac and battling artist like Too Short, while nodding to the raps of Ghetto Mafia and Scarface. We all were talented it was just being able to identify our strengths and work harder on our weaknesses and come to terms with what it was we really wanted to do in the music industry.

Yeah it took time and money just like it does now. We did the backyard, house, pool, and street parties. We used what we had and created the sound at the time we thought was decent. But as we grew and matured we advanced to better recording equipment and we attended more local talent shows and listened to the radio daily to keep up on the sounds while continuously making our music knowiknowing that this was the way to keep music current. We then identified the strengths of each other as we grew.
We now realize âLil B âis our Freestyle Battler. We realized he had the flow and the lyrics to battle the best so freestyle battles it was. Our sounds expanded because of the programs we were able to utilize and we got more response because of the sounds created for us that for some reason âSnipa Jâ just kept em coming as he does today. Our flow the energy we bring to stage is phenomenal, it definitely blends with the unique style and flow that is brought by Big Dreâ âthe moment he takes the mic along with the charisma he possesses with the ladies whether on stage or off. But who be more diverse than ya boy Species from writing to arranging sounds he comes with it and gives unique a whole new definition.

We now perform at bigger venues and have opened and performed on shows with artist such as Juvenile, Young Dro, and Citty aka Cookie Man, Choppa,DJ Unk, Yola the Great, Kadalack Boys, Squad Up, Chyna White and many others.

285Boyz posesses the mentality and physical ability to exceed our goals. The greatness of it all is that we realize who we are, where were going in with our music and what it will take to get there! We realize that you don't rush to create "Hits". We will continue to create hits and produce quality sound tracks for our audience. So stay tuned to the sounds of 285Boyz coming to a town near you.
