Burr cut his musical teeth playing folk and bluegrass jam sessions at the Woodland Avenue fire station in his hometown of Lexington, Kentucky. But a wide array of influences from Beck to The Lemonheads, They Might Be Giants, and even Tom Lehrer have contributed to his own quirky style of funky folk/rock songwriting. After a decade and many glasses of bourbon, he's still at it.

Although currently preoccupied with graduate school in Madison, Wisconsin, in 2003 he managed to produce the soundtrack for the curious indie film The Fifteen Minute Show, and in 2004 he spearheaded February Album Writing Month (www.fawm.org), a project which challenges amateur and professional musicians alike to write and demo an album's worth of songs during the shortest month of the year. Armed with a slew of new songs, Burr finally completed his first full-length studio album, an 11-song CD entitled Sketches, released January 2005.

Oh... and for the record, Burr is his real name.
