Dan Aaronson was born in Boston and took up the piano at an early age. At Tufts University, Dan founded the band Redshift 6, which has headlined at such Boston-area venues as The Middle East and Harper's Ferry, in addition to sharing the stage with acts such as Guster, Jurassic 5, and Original P. Since that time, Dan has focused primarily on piano-based jazz and new age projects.
Dan's influences include Bruce Hornsby, Brad Mehldau, Keith Jarrett, D.D. Jackson and George Winston. His solo piano compositions have been featured on the Jumbo Audio Project compilation CD as well as on www.bruuuce.com, the foremost destination for Bruce Hornsby fans. His debut CD, DAYLIGHT SAVINGS, saw its release in 2003.
